Root Canal And More Demo

We have had an eventful few days here at the Hardy household. On Friday morning, I got my first root canal. Anyone that knows me well, knows that I absolutely hate to go to the dentist. I think it may be because of all the mouth trauma I had when I was little and in that car accident. Anyway, I went in at 10 and it took 2 hours! I was a nervous wreck. The tooth had been bothering me and when he got in there doing the root canal, he told me that the tooth was dead. He said it didn't bleed and that it was dry. Good thing I went ahead and did it because it would have been worse later if I had waited. I am a titty baby so of course Friday, I took lots of drugs and napped. I couldn't figure out which hurt worse, the tooth that he fixed or my jaws. They make you put this thing in your mouth to keep it open wide. It made my jaws ache and they are still sore. Saturday was SO much better. I even felt like getting out and doing some house demo. Sunday was even better. Overall, it wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be but I still wouldn't want to do it again any time soon. But at least I got to keep my tooth.

Last weekend, Jonathan and I worked inside the "man cave" getting the wall framed up. We got all that done and all we have to do is move the window from the outside wall it is on now to the new wall that Jonathan and I built. We are taking down the existing wall so that the outside of the house will have an overhang. Whoever did the construction of the "man cave" had no idea what they were doing. It is leaking and has been due to the fact that the rain has no where to go except down the wall. We are changing that.

Jonathan cutting plywood to frame up the wall.

The big opening is where the window is going to be moved.

We are going to raise the floor in the "man cave" so that we can put in the heating and air vents. This will still have a few steps but it will step down into a den.

Jonathan hard at work!

Jonathan was on vacation last week so he starting tearing down the the rest of the stone a few days this week. He did a lot considering that he did it all by himself.

I am posting some pics of the stone while still up so those of you that haven't seen the before, can get a good idea of how it looked before we starting tearing it down. Yes, that is stone and then someone painted it. Terrible!! But..... no more stone...... YEA!!!!!

Before.....

Before.....

View from the front...getting there...

Jonathan hammering down the stone.

Getting after it!

My turn!

View from the corner. Where there is boards now, was stone at one point!!

This window will be moved to the new wall we framed up on the inside...

Jonathan cleaning up stone.

DONE!!! This whole section (the width of the porch) will be torn off. We are taking away that little bit of square footage so that we can make an eve so that water will have somewhere to go besides straight down the wall. We will be adding gutters too.

YEA!!!! We are so proud. We have been working on this "man cave" for almost a year. We are saving A TON of money by doing it all ourselves. This next week, Jonathan is going to get the window moved and this outside wall torn down. Then he will hang the plywood to create the eves and then we will be ready to call Will to come up and put up the vinyl siding and gutters. We think that our house is going to look so much better once this gets done! Stay tuned....

Becca's Visit

We had a very eventful weekend so this is going to be a super long post!

Jonathan and I were so excited that Becca wanted to come stay with us for a few days!! This was her first trip to our house all by herself. She was such a good girl for us and we had so much fun!! Jonathan met Lee and Becca in Russellville on Thursday afternoon. They got back the same time I got home from work. She was so excited! She walked in the door and looked around and said, "Just the same as last time." I agreed and told her that it was the same as last time she and Rhonda were here. lol Becca just says the funniest things! Jonathan and I were rolling all weekend long.
I was worried about bedtime because she is usually bad for Rhonda at bedtime and gets up a lot during the night. But we had no issues what so ever!!! She told me every night when she was ready to go to bed. She loved sleeping in "the secret bed." (aka the trundle bed!) She only got up one time in the three nights she was here and it was on the first night. She just wanted some milk then went right back to bed. She woke me up Friday morning and told me, "It is 8:00 TP, time to get up!" I looked at the clock and it was 8:10. I asked her to show me the 8 on the clock but she wouldn't. Not sure if she knew or if she was just saying 8 because she likes that number the most according to Rhonda. lol Then on Saturday morning, I didn't hear her get up but Jonathan poked me and said she was awake. She was just standing beside the bed staring at me.
I thought this was just too sweet. Becca and her baby Sissy.

We did a LOT of coloring this weekend. She wants to color the same page I am coloring plus her page. She knows all of her colors. I had a few coloring books here that we used and she also brought one. She asked if I liked her coloring book and I told her that I did. She then told me, "That bunny got it for me!" (the Easter Bunny) LOL

After Jonathan got off work on Friday, we headed up to Blanchard Springs for a fun day of swimming in the creek and fishing. Becca had a hard time understanding that we were going swimming but not at a pool. And she didn't like having to wear her shoes until she realized that it hurt her feet. We all had a really good time. If you haven't ever been to Blanchard Springs, I suggest that you do because it is just beautiful.

Becca and Uncle T getting in the water for the first time!

These two were being so silly!

This is my favorite picture EVER of me and Becca! She looks like such a big girl here!

Jonathan saw some larger fish swimming around so he went and got his fishing pole. He found a cricket on the beach and actually caught a small mouth bass. This was so awesome to me because we were in a "swimming hole" with other people splashing around. I guess the fish are used it! I didn't get a picture of the fish because it jumped out of Jonathan's hand before I could get my camera! :(

Jonathan is watching the fish swim around his jig. The water is so clear and cold!

Just a beautiful place to go in Arkansas!!!

Silly girl!!

She thought it was really cool that the water was so clear. She kept talking about the rocks on the bottom.

I wish this picture wasn't blurry but I had to post! This is how they were all weekend! She LOVES "Uncle T" and followed him everywhere!

I love this face! She is saying Cheeeeseeeee!!!!

Just precious! She liked the waterfall from far away.....

...but not so much when Jonathan took her down close to it. She said it was too loud.

I thought this picture was funny! I told her to look at me and smile and she looked at Jonathan. But I just love that squished up nose!! Too cute!

We saw this hornet nest on the way out from the spring! Whoa! That thing is huge!

~BEAUTIFUL~

Now it was time to go fishing! Uncle T is helping get her ready to go!

I love how she says the word bobber!!

Patiently waiting.....

Now I ask you.....how sweet is this? I love that she enjoyed it! We didn't catch anything here at Mirror Lake so we promised her that we would take her again Saturday morning.

Look at that hot, red face! This was right before we left to go home. We didn't even make it into Mountain View and she was asleep.

We got back from Blanchard and we all took naps. Becca and I went out to eat Friday night and when we got back, I started cleaning the bathroom while Jonathan and Becca were playing. We noticed that it was hot in our house so I went to look at the thermostat and it said it was 79 in our house but it was set on 73. Uh Oh!!! Jonathan went out and checked it out and our unit wasn't coming on but the air was blowing into the house. It quickly got hotter! Jonathan figured out what we needed. We don't have any air conditioning supply places in Batesville open on Saturday. I called a local heating and air company, Wade's, and they wanted to charge us $300 for them to come out, fix it, and labor! i was like no way! I called a girl that works for me and her husband works on sir conditioners for a living. He was on call and couldn't come by but told us the part was about $30. The guy from Wade's told us that we could meet someone up at their store on Saturday and they would sell us the part for $75. So we turned up all our fans and toughed it out! Poor Becca was SO hot. I brought her in the living room to sleep on the couch.

We got up Saturday and went fishing while we were waiting on Wade's to call us.....

We went to a local park where only kids and seniors can fish. We took some bread and fed the ducks and geese. She LOVED that! But didn't want them to get too close either!

But they didn't mind getting too close at all! I even had a few eat out of my hand!

Jonathan is helping get her worm on the hook!

The ducks were trying to eat her bobber! She thought this was SO funny!

Jonathan and his shadow! lol

Then we went to Lyon's college. They have a pond that Jonathan and I didn't know about until last week when a guy that works for me told me about it! Jonathan was so good with her! We both wanted her to catch a fish so bad!

So very sweet!

Even sweeter! I just love this!

She looks like such a big girl!!! (Rhonda, Jonathan was right there beside her! lol Plus, the water was not deep right here so even if she did fall in, she would have been fine!)

As we were walking around the pond on the walking path, we came upon this! I had to snap a picture because I thought it was hilarious! This is a $6000 + lawn mower that some dummy drove into the pond!

So by this time, it was about 10 am and we still hadn't heard from the Wade's people. I called and the guy was rude and said he couldn't sell us the part. We were ticked off to say the least. I got on my phone and found a place in Searcy that had the part. So Becca and I drove to Searcy to get it! When we got back, Will and Ruth were here to look at out house. He is going to do our vinyl siding! We are so excited to get started! Becca went down for her nap while we visited. Jonathan and Will fixed the air but it took 6 hours for it to get cool in this house. It was up in low 90's before it started going down!

Saturday evening, Becca started to miss her Momma and Daddy! :( She wanted to call Rhonda and so we did. She started crying and wanting to go home! We talked to her and calmed her down. When I woke her up Sunday to tell her it was time to get ready to go home, she was so happy and excited to see her family! We met in Harrison and ate at Shoney's. I got to visit with Rhonda and Lee and the babies for a little while. I fed Carley and then played with Evan a bit. I didn't get any pictures on Carley but Rhonda took a few of Evan and I. They are so sweet and just in the last week have started smiling at you when you talk to them! It just melted my heart! I hate that we are so far away because I miss them all! We can't wait for Becca to come back. We had the best time!!

Look at the sweet baby's smile!

He loves his TP already!

LOVE IT!!!!!!!
