Thanksgiving 2010

We had the best Thanksgiving this year! We are truly blessed!!

When I got home from work on Wednesday, I started cooking! I stayed up until 1:00 am cooking treats for our big meal. On Thanksgiving morning, Jonathan and I headed to Jonesboro to my Aunt Pam's house. This was the first year we had Thanksgiving in Jonesboro and it was very nice! With Becca and the twins being the only kids, of course they got all the attention. We had such good food and I ate entirely way too much. But that is ok by me because after all, Thanksgiving is only once a year! (That is my excuse anyway.) Jonathan and I went back to Mom's in Wynne where we stayed, along with The Bramell's, until Saturday. On Saturday, we came back to Batesville to watch the Arkansas/LSU game. Bramell party of five came and spent the night too!

I have to tell you what Becca said Saturday night. She was back in my room and Rhonda and I were in the living room, both holding babies. Lee and Jonathan were in the kitchen.
Becca: (running into the living room) Momma, Momma, I gotta pee.
Rhonda: I am rocking a baby go tell your dad.
Becca: (running into the kitchen) Dad, I am freaking out. I gotta pee.

LOL!!! Rhonda and I just busted out laughing! She really is hilarious! I didn't get too many pictures of Becca because she wouldn't be still or stop long enough.

Carley and Evan are just the sweetest little things. They are so different. Evan is all smiles and and just tiny. Carley loves to eat! She is such a chunk....or Tator, as Dad called her. Anyway, I took a lot of pictures. I know why Rhonda says she doesn't have time to take any. She really isn't lying. Really.

Look at those eyes!

My cousin Valerie and Carley

My Aunt Pam rocking sleepy Carley

That big gummy smile!

Nanny and Evan just chillin'

Bless his heart, he has no hair!

Becca wanted everyone to play ring around the rosie.....

Becca is such a good big sister!

LOVE THESE HATS!!

This girl can eat!!!

And when these babies want something, they are not shy about letting you know about it!

Sweet tator tank! lol

Look at this pitiful lip! We got so tickled watching her stick it out!!

I barely got this picture of Becca and Roger. And then she was gone....

Grammy and Evan

Bright eyes

Sticking her tongue out at me....

....getting fussy....

I love this one of Carley.

Nanny is not supposed to be lifting over 5 pounds....hmmmm.

I also love her hair. Just cracks me up!

Rhonda feeds one a bite then the other. While one is getting a bite, the other is crying for a bite. Bless their hearts. They act like Rhonda and Lee don't feed them! lol

Jonathan and Lee raked some leaves Sunday morning and built a fire.

Becca playing with the next door neighbors dog. (She wouldn't look up at me.)

I had the best time with my family this Thanksgiving. I am ready for this weekend. We are all going to Branson to take Becca to see all the Christmas lights. She is going to love it! I love seeing the world through her. She is just so smart and a very funny little girl! We are going to have a blast!!!

We Have A Floor!!!

Yes, we are boring and that is why I haven't updated. We have been working on the house and I am so excited! We have a few projects going at the same time. Will still has to come back and finish the siding and metal work. We can't do anything more outside until it warms up next spring. In the meantime, we have decided to go ahead and start working on the inside. This past weekend, we got the wood braces in for the floor! It is actually looking like a room now!!

IT LOOKS SO GOOD!!!!

Front view. We still have to get new poles but those are coming back with Will.

The first bit of insulation.

Drilling the first board for the new floor.

Jonathan worked so hard! I am amazed at the things that he just knows how to do!

Board #2....

YEA!

Making sure it is perfect!

We are going to add insulation under the floor too.

The heating and air duct will come from that hole. We have to knock out a few bricks.

This is just a picture from the front of the room looking back.

This didn't take near as long as I thought it would. But, it was VERY hard work!

This was end of day Saturday!

Working on Sunday morning to get the rest of the floor up.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) Jonathan is going to get the heating and air ducts run and the insulation under the floor. We still have SO much to do. I love blogging about our house projects! It is like a scrapbook!!

The Last Few Weeks

It has been crazy around here for the past few weeks.

First of all, Bertha (my truck) has been acting up the past 6 weeks. I have already spent $800 on her and she was still acting up. She would never do it when the mechanic drove it. So I took it to a transmission shop today and they guy drove her and he confirmed what I thought....I need a new transmission. I knew this would happen. I just paid her off 8 months ago. BUT, she will survive! 190,000 and going! I would much rather fork out the money to fix Big Bertha than to have another car payment. On the bright side, hopefully this will allow me to drive her for a few more years. I am kind of fond of Big Bertha so that makes me happy. (I know, it's the little things!)

Last weekend I was sick. Didn't do much but just felt terrible. I got some medicine and am feeling much better. I hate being sick, but then again, who doesn't.

On on to bigger news!! We are finally getting somewhere on our "man cave" project! I can't even begin to explain how excited we are. We are so proud to say that we have done this. We still have more to do but Will, a great friend of ours, is coming back next week to finish. I think it looks like a totally different house. He still has to do all the metal and the other end of the peak and all the eves. But I wanted to post in progress....(these are all with my phone)

The front view after day 1

Little wider shot.

End of Day 2
Doesn't it just look so awesome???!!! We are working on ideas to cover up the concrete in front. We are going to move the stairs. All in good time though. But we feel like we have hit a major milestone and we can finally say that we are almost done. We aren't thinking the inside will take too terribly long. At least we hope! We have only been here 16 months so I think we have done a lot! Super Excited!

Street view. Don't mind the mums in the middle of the yard. I thought they might like some sun. They didn't. They are dying. :(

I will post before and after pics when we are done. I can't wait to compare! On another note, I am really missing Bramell Party of Five... :( ...and my besties! I am ready to meet Brody too!
