Birthday's In Birmingham

Yes, I know that I am a month behind on blogging (Kara and Hannah!) so, I am trying to get caught up and do better. It has been a crazy month and I must say that I am glad to see some signs of Spring! So here we go.....

Kara's birthday is January 29th and Hannah's is the 30th. Kara and I were discussing what she wanted to do for her birthday this year and she suggested that we go visit Jay and Hannah in Birmingham! What an awesome idea. It was a very long drive but it was so very worth it! I left Batesville Friday after work and met Kara in Wynne. She got in with me and we headed toward Birmingham. We finally got there at about 11:30. Neither Kara or I had ever gotten to spend much time with Brody so we were both excited to get to know this little man too. We had a wonderful visit, but just not long enough.


We got up on Saturday and played with Brody and ate a wonderful breakfast Hannah cooked. We showered and got ready for the day and decided to take Brody to do a tiny bit of shopping at Hobby Lobby and then to a Mexican restaurant in downtown Homewood. (Suburb of Birmingham where they live.) We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather and had ourselves a drink. It was so nice getting to visit and enjoy the weather.

We went back to Hannah and Jay's and spent the afternoon relaxing out on their back deck drinking and laughing. Of course we spent some time playing with Brody too! He is just the best little baby! He has the sweetest little smile.

Kara and I had so much fun getting to know Brody more. He really is such a good baby. Hannah and Jay are such good parents and host! We had the best visit. I just can't wait until they move closer. Only 6 more months!!!! :)

When we got back from lunch, Jay had got Hannah those beautiful flowers and the birthday girl's a cake. I got the wine glasses made for them both for their birthdays!! I just love those two!


Saturday night, us girl's went out to celebrate the birthdays!! Jay took us and picked us up. We made reservations and a super nice restaurant called Ocean's. The food was so good. Hannah paid for our meal even though we begged her to let us help pay. Thanks so much Hannah! It was so much fun getting to hang out and enjoy awesome seafood.

Our appetizers, Cajun shrimp and crab cakes! Kara and I both agree that these were THE BEST crab cakes that we have ever eaten! Delicious!

Hannah had the sushi. I know nothing about sushi and I do not care for it. I have no idea what "flavor" she got but she said that it was very good!

And I got the surf and turf. YUMMY! This was one of the best steaks that I have ever had! Thanks again Hannah, I enjoyed dinner so much!
